Simple rules for spotting cars.

Using the app

• Octane is for personal, non-commercial use.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
• You are responsible for the photos you take. Photograph cars in public, and do not photograph people or private property in a way that violates their privacy or local laws.
• Use the camera feature responsibly and in compliance with local laws.

Community & content

• Octane has a public leaderboard and player garages. Choose a username that is not offensive, impersonating, or infringing.
• Do not upload images that are illegal, offensive, hateful, or that you do not have the right to share.
• You can report or block any player from their profile. We have zero tolerance for abusive content and may remove content or accounts that violate these terms, without notice.
• By enabling Public Garage photos, you allow reduced, plate-hidden copies of eligible garage images to be shown to signed-in Octane players. You can disable this sharing in Settings.

Subscriptions

• Octane Pro is a subscription billed through your Apple ID.
• If a free trial is offered, you will be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• To cancel, go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their policies.

AI car identification

• Car identification is powered by AI and is provided for entertainment purposes only.
• Results may be inaccurate. Do not rely on them for purchase, insurance, legal, or safety decisions.
• Photos sent for analysis are processed by OpenAI and subject to their terms.

Your content

Photos and data you create in Octane are yours. Your collection is stored locally on your device; leaderboard progress and the Public Garage images you choose to share are synced to power social features. We do not claim ownership of your content.

Limitation of liability

Octane is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the app, including data loss or inaccurate AI results.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
